340B Program Announcement

To Our Frederiksted Health Care, Inc. Community,

Frederiksted Health Care, Inc. has worked for more than 25 years to provide the best care to every member of our community by providing several programs to assist our patients with healthcare expenses.  Effective April 30, 2026, Frederiksted Health Care. will no longer be able to offer our 340B prescription discount program through Neighborhood Pharmacy.  The program will continue at Walgreens.  We are grateful for the support and partnership that Neighborhood Pharmacy has given to Frederiksted Health Care and our patients over the past several years.  However, before or after May 1st 2026, Frederiksted Health Care will transfer prescriptions for patients who wish to continue participating in the 340B Program. 

Our 340B Discount Prescription Program is a federal program that allows Frederiksted Health Care to purchase prescription medication at special pricing which is only available to safety-net healthcare providers that meet specific state and/or federally regulated criteria for serving uninsured and/or under-insured patients. The 340B program provides us with the opportunity to subsidize the cost of prescription medications for many of our patients. 

Success of the 340B Program depends on participation of our patients regardless of whether they are uninsured, underinsured, or covered by MAP, Medicare, or private insurance plans.  The more patients that fill their prescriptions through our 340B Program, the more of our uninsured and under-insured friends, neighbors and family members we are able to subsidize.  We want to remind you that you always have the right to choose the pharmacy that works best for you. However, we are asking all patients who are able to transfer their prescriptions to Walgreens. Walgreens will mail prescriptions directly to your home mailing address within 3 to 4 days of receipt of the prescription.  We apologize for any inconvenience this change will cause you and we appreciate your understanding and willingness to help your community by keeping your prescription with our 340B Program.
